Education:
1983-1987: School of Arts and Crafts, Kolding, Denmark (now: Design School Kolding).
1987: Graduates as a graphic designer/illustrator.

Work experience:
Since 1985: Freelance graphic designer.

1988: Founds graphic design studio "Grafik&Text", with art critic, journalist Lisbeth Tolstrup.
In the 1990ies, the name of the studio is changed to "Tolstrup Pryds Graphics", to emphasize the persons behind the company.
For TPG, Pryds works with graphic design in many different forms - posters, logotype, letterhead and stationary, catalogues, books, brochures, illustration etc. - and since 2003 also type design. Tolstrup does text - writing, editing etc.

1993-94: Teaches graphic design, fine art, and drawing at "Seminarium for håndværk og design" ("Teachers College of Handicraft and Design"), Nørresundby, Denmark.

1996-2006: Works full time as a news graphic artist/illustrator/graphic designer/Art Director with "Morgenavisen Jyllands-Posten" (Denmark's largest daily newspaper).
Has worked with almost all aspects of modern newspaper graphics; from simple no frills editorial pie charts, logo elements, advertising, photo illustrations to web design and the overall design of broadsheet and tabloid pages.
Designed the graphic identity for the JP Explorer expeditions.
Worked with Mario Garcia on redesigning the Sunday supplements in 2001; and with DaniloBlack in redesigning the main sections 2006.
2005-2006 Art Director for the newspaper's magazines.

2006--, Art Director/Editor, "SNDS Magazine", published quarterly by Society for News Design Scandinavia. Redesigned the graphic identity of the society 2005.

2006-2008, Graphic designer/layout artist, "Nyhedsmagasinet Ingeniøren" ("Engineering Weekly"), Copenhagen, Denmark.
Works with newspaper and magazine layout, and the redesign of the newspaper.

2008-2009, Chief Sub-editor for Visuals, "24timer", Copenhagen, Denmark.

2009--, Art Director, "Berlingske Nyhedsmagasin", Copenhagen, Denmark.

Lars Pryds - Fine Artist

Education:
1981 and 1983: Attends courses in folk high schools, specializing in graphic arts, poetry and ceramics. Works with graphic artists Jørgen Sten Nielsen (in Herning) and Bjarne Agerbo (in Holbæk) who both evoke the enthusiasm for black and white dry point and etching techniques. As an artist, Pryds works with these techniques exclusively until 1985, when painting and collage become part of his graphic language.
1983-1987:

1987: Graduates as a graphic designer/illustrator. Although this is primarily a design education, Pryds combines his artistic spontaneity with the tight graphic demands whenever possible.
