Curriculum Vitae

The short version (scroll down for extended cv):

Lars Pryds is a Sakskøbing, Denmark based visual artist and designer, working with fine art, graphic and editorial design from his studio Tolstrup Pryds Graphics, which he shares since 1987 with his wife, designer and art critic Lisbeth Tolstrup.

Pryds’ artwork consists of primarily paintings and collages, created with inspiration from the atmosphere of the big cities but also including graphic elements from the media. You can buy his work from his website and in Galleri Art for Future, Valby, Galleri Pagter, Kolding and from the international webshop at Saatchi Art.

As an editorial art director and graphic designer, Pryds has nearly 25 years of experience from some of Denmark’s largest newspapers, as well as from single assignments of a very diverse character – e.g. books, posters, and identity design. He has won several international awards for his editorial and web design.

He writes art and design reviews for a.o. the magazines Kunstavisen and Journalisten – and in his rare spare time designs funny fonts, which are up for sale from market leading font resellers like and (see

Pryds graduated from the School of Arts and Crafts (now: Design School Kolding) in 1987 and obtained a Master in Design degree at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation in June 2013.

A note about the extended cv: Although split into two sections – one describing work as a fine artist, another as a graphic designer – much of the content overlaps. This is only natural, as that is exactly how things are in real life. So, to get the full picture, read it all. Thanks, Lars
